Wednesday, Valentine Day, 14th Feb 2007, 11am.

The CEO of embedio (www.embedio.com), Russell Murphy, came by the booth to explore how he could use Singapore as a base for regional work. Apparently he found working with Singapore-based people easier. The CEO and CTO are in US. They have a 6-persons team in India.

Embedio claimed to have developed the 2D barcode technologies for tagit.

Its been many many moons since my OS 101. Embedio's technologies is intriguing.

"Embedio develops technology to optimize performance in converged media devices. Embedio's main product, DuetTM and other related technologies, are suitable for mobile handsets, set top boxes and other devices where design requirements call for quality of service to assure a rich multimedia user experience.DuetTM, Embedio's proprietary operating system enhancement, is the architecture for concurrently running multiple operating systems kernels within a single operating system. This enables applications that require both features of general purpose operating system and performance and/or features of functional motivated operating systems such as real-time operating systems. By allowing seamless integration of multiple kernels, Duet allows full sharing of hardware and software resources in a single device. Embedio's technology and products are suited for applications that need to process real-time and non-real-time data streams concurrently. DuetTM technology is also suited for multi-core CPUs requiring asymmetric execution (different functions on each CPU core)."
