Technologies for Product Acceleration Partnerships with ETPL 2016

About ETPL:
ETPL is the commercialisation arm of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore’s lead agency for fostering world-class scientific research and talent. As a one-stop resource, ETPL supports A*STAR in transforming the economy through driving innovation and commercialising its research outcomes. ETPL enhances the research output of A*STAR scientists by translating their inventions and intellectual capital into marketable products, processes and services. Since its inception, ETPL has issued more than 1,400 technology licences largely to start-ups and SMEs, and initiated close to 120 start-ups and spin-offs.

Product Acceleration with ETPL:
ETPL co-funds productisation of A*STAR technologies at up to $100k for prototypes and up to $750k for go-to-market products in conjunction with Singapore-based start-ups. The qualified startups must have matching co-investments in their development of products and services using A*STAR technologies.

Technologies:
The CENSE Content-driven Enterprise Service Enquirer platform is a software toolset that lets enterprises quickly deploy virtual customer service agents from available content such as logs, FAQs, product info, and the Internet with minimal manual re-purposing. It is built on the Artificial Intelligence Dialogue Agent research.

SentiMo automatically classifies a twitter message into sentiment categories (positive, negative, neutral and mixed) as well as identifying their prevailing emotion categories (e.g., desire, satisfaction, anger, sadness, and anxiety).

MIMAS is an on-device advanced mobile image recognition technology that does not require an internet connection. It recognises the content of the image or scene using patent-pending image recognition methods and returns the relevant information by augmenting the reality as seen on a mobile device, such as mobile phones and tablets. The technology is capable of fast recognition and unprecedented low memory usage, compared to the current state-of-the-art image content query techniques.

Video Intelligence Technologies for Retail (VITR) is a portfolio of advanced image/video analytics technologies that enable automatic detection and classification of retail objects, counting and profiling of customers as well as facial expression analysis for automation, productivity enhancement and customer satisfaction monitoring in the competitive retail environment.

iWENS is a wireless, power-efficient, high-performance neural sensing technology for measuring neurophysiological signals and computing brain states such as attention, emotion, fatigue and anxiety. This technology includes an integrated hardware and software solution leveraging innovative sensing chip, wireless circuit module, headband design, and firmware with intelligent neural computing algorithms.

Scalable Speech-to-Text tops in US NIST benchmarks for conversion of speech to text. Cloud-ready. Trained on thousands of hours of data. Supports standard Mandarin and local English.

Natural Speech Synthesis converts text into natural sounding speech. Tops in international benchmarks on sounding very close to natural human speech. Cloud-ready. Supports standard Mandarin and English.

Voice Biometrics enables use of speaker voice profiles for authentication. Embeddable on smartphones. Cloud-ready for web-service applications.

The High Performance Computing (HPC) capability group aims to develop scalable and reusable solutions to enable developers to produce efficient and high performance applications. Research areas include Frameworks for Accelerator Platforms, Optimisation and Performance Tuning, and libraries for GPU-optimised Deep Learning networks.

The Distributed Computing Capability Group has research capabilities in cloud computing, large-scale data processing, recommender systems and deep learning.
